What is this flooring?

Often, people just call it non-skid flooring, but it is more. While anti-slip qualities are a critical factor, this flooring is engineered to answer the needs of high durability while minimizing the risk of bacteria or toxins.

These floors, of which rubber is one, undergo extensive testing for anti-slip; hygiene and cleaning procedures; surface roughness (for added traction); durability; and environmental impact.

Rubber floors for safety

There are so many design options, with a range of colors, patterns, designs, and sizes, it's possible to have a floor that is both fashionable and safe. The benefits include:

  • Durability. It can withstand high impact (i.e., gyms), cars and can be used in garages.
  • Resistant to mold and bacteria. Since it inhibits germs, it’s a favorite among hospitals.
  • Slip-resistant. This is a good option for senior living communities. It’s waterproof and becomes even more slip-resistant when exposed to liquid
  • Easy to clean: Vacuum and mop occasionally.
  • Resilience. Especially great for gyms because it is much easier on the joints.
  • Environmentally responsible. Rubber is generally considered to have a low environmental impact, but some manufacturers go even further by using recycled rubber from cars.
